The 2nd-gen Mazda CX-3 2020 will get the same platform found in the new Mazda 3.

According to GoAuto.com.au, the next-gen Mazda CX-3 is planned to make its debut in 2020 with a bigger size and fresh features. The Mazda CX-3 2020 will be developed from the same platform as that of the new Mazda 3 - the SkyActiv-Vehicle Architecture, promising to go head to head with bigger contenders including the Subaru XV, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Kona and the Toyota C-HR.

With the new platform, the Mazda CX-3 2020 will get a bolder chassis and a more muscular body structure. The SkyActiv-Vehicle Architecture also includes a redesigned rear suspension to greatly reduce the car’s vibration and noise.

In fact, the Mazda 3 is said to be powered by a new petrol SkyActiv-X engine which comes with Spark Controlled Compression Ignition. The mill is capable of cranking out 190 hp and 230 Nm of torque with amazing fuel economy.

So now, it is expected that the all-new Mazda CX-3 2020 will be armed with the same engine as the Mazda 3, seeing that the ongoing Mazda models are used the same powertrains.

Additionally, the next-gen CX-3 is said to receive a great improvement in its exterior and interior including new seating design, better rear legroom, larger cargo space and enhanced dashboard ergonomics.
