Keep an eye on more slots opening soon.

The cost of acquiring a Land Transportation Office (LTO) driver's license can be hefty due to the various fees added in recent times. Fortunately, the government agency is offering a free Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) for those applying for a student permit.

LTO free 15-hour TDC January schedule

The TDC schedule for January 2023

In a recent advisory, LTO rolled out the schedules for its free 15-hour TDC at the LTO-NCR West Driver's Education Center (DEC) this January. It is located at 20 G. Araneta Ave., Brgy. Sto. Domingo, Quezon City.

For your reference, here is the list of schedules:

⦁    January 10 and 11 (Tuesday and Wednesday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

⦁    January 12 and 13 (Thursday and Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

⦁    January 17 and 18 (Tuesday and Wednesday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

⦁    January 19 and 20 (Thursday and Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

⦁    January 24 and 25 (Tuesday and Wednesday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

⦁    January 26 and 27 (Thursday and Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

Completing a TDC is one of the requirements to acquire a student permit. It aims to teach applicants about road rules and regulations, as well as safe driving. Accredited driving schools also offer a TDC program that usually costs around Php 2,000.

To note, the LTO mentioned that the schedules for this month have reached the maximum number of applicants. But the agency encourages interested individuals to wait for further announcements regarding succeeding schedules on its official Facebook page.

TDC is required for acquiring a student permit

If you are one of those who are looking forward to the opening of free TDC slots, the LTO is reminding you that booked appointments are non-transferable. You must also provide an active email address where the agency will send the confirmation of your booking.

There will be limited slots per schedule so visit the said page from time to time if you want to save money as an alternative to paid TDC programs. Once you have successfully booked a schedule, you must personally attend both sessions as part of the process of acquiring a student permit.
