The Suzuki Ciaz 2019 (known as Maruti Ciaz in India) is set to hit the Indian market next year. The launch date is still quite far ahead yet speculations are available thanks to spy shots during the facelifted Suzuki Ciaz test mule released lately, which unraveled the Ciaz’s 1.5-liter engine.
Reliable sources of news have informed the Suzuki Ciaz’s current D13A 1.3L diesel powertrain won’t come along with the vehicle anymore, instead, the Suzuki-developed 1.5L diesel powertrain will. The new engine is due to meet the BSVI emission standards which are taken into effect at the beginning of the second quarter of 2020.

The 1.5L vehicle will run on a six-speed manual transmission
In reference to the current 1.3L diesel engine which puts out 200 Nm at 1,750 rpm and 90 PS at 4,000 rpm, the replacement is positive to outperform its predecessor to go head to head with any other model in the same segments. And while the 1.3L engine works in conjunction with a five-speed manual gearbox, the 1.5L vehicle will run on a six-speed manual transmission. The same SHVS system is likely to be kept equipped in the India-spec Suzuki Ciaz.
The facelifted Suzuki Ciaz 2019 will go on sale next month in the Indian market with a myriad of promising features including engine auto start-stop, cruise control alongside the arrival of the new petrol engine which is similar to the engine we saw in the Suzuki Ertiga 2018. That means it can churn out 138 Nm at 4,400 rpm and 104.7 PS at 6,000 rpm.
