Hyundai PH to offer 2023 Ioniq 5 EV with 8-year battery warranty

Available in two variants with a starting price of P3.068 million.

Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) is on track to officially launch the 2023 Ioniq 5 as it announced the initial details about the said electric vehicle (EV).

Hyundai Philippines revealed that the Ioniq 5 will be offered in two variants, GLS 2WD S (Standard Range) and GLS 2WD L (Long Range). The Ioniq 5 Standard Range will be priced at Php 3,068,000 while the Long Range trim will retail at Php 3,698,000. 

The complete specs for each Ioniq 5 variant are yet to be announced by HMPH. Comparing it to other markets, the Standard Range trim has a 58 kWh battery that generates 168 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Hyundai claims that it has a combined range of up to 386 km. 

The Long Range variant, on the other hand, is equipped with a 73 kWh battery that delivers 225 hp and 350 Nm of torque. It has a claimed electric range of up to 483 km.

The PH-spec 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 could also come with 19-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, a digital instrument cluster, and several driver-assist features such as the Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control. The said feature allows the Ioniq 5 to automatically adjust speed to stay within the speed limit.     

HMPH did confirm that the 2023 Ioniq 5 will come with a 5-year or 200,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty. It will also be offering the said EV with an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty. A 5-year or 75,000 km free maintenance package is also included.

The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 for the Philippine market will be made available with four color options: Phantom Black Pearl, Cyber Gray Metallic, Atlas White, and Gravity Gold Matte.

HMPH said it will start the sales for the Ioniq 5 on January 2023. Although, the car brand has yet to announce the official launch date of its award-winning EV.
