The latest Forester that was unveiled at the 2018 New York Auto Show was rather a surprise to the attendees who could see the Subaru’s purpose to be releasing the 5th-gen Subaru Forester that bears an almost resemblance to the existing model in terms of the design. However, it is promising to know the US-market Forester will come with a new 2.5L engine that churns out 238 Nm and 182 PS.

What variants and engine does the auto brand offer locally is still a question yet to be answered as the Subaru Forester 2019’s revelation was just published not long ago. However, it is likely the turbocharged XT that will be replaced by Advance, a hybrid model after Japan opened the 5th-gen Forester’s pre-orders.

Speaking of the hybrid-powered model, it is powered by a 2L naturally aspirated flat four powertrain channeled to an e-BOXER electric motor. With this combination, the vehicle is capable of 188 Nm and 145 PS. The Forester with the lineartronic CVT powertrain will come with all-wheel-drive.

A new lithium-ion battery will come in the Subaru Forester 2019

The interesting things not only come from the electric motor, it is the new lithium-ion battery as well that comes in the Subaru Forester 2019. Correspondingly, the fuel efficiency (that will be 18.6 kpl) will take a boost from the coordination of the new X-Mode system and the e-BOXER.
