GAC Motor Philippines recently partnered with Lazada Philippines to formally open its LazMall flagship store during Lazada’s 11.11 event in November 2021. To commemorate its entry into the e-commerce platform, the carmaker raffled off an all-new GAC GS8 2.0 4x2 Sport variant to Lazada users.

Now, GAC Motor Philippines announced the lucky winner as Mr. Sherwin Santos of Calamba, Laguna. Santos took home a 7-seater midsize SUV that he can use for his daily commute or his weekend trips with the family. He was excited during the turnover ceremony, and for good reason, as the GS8 is his first vehicle.
“Thank you, GAC Motor Philippines and Lazada Philippines at nanalo kami ng all-new GAC GS8 4x2 Sports. Out of the so many entries, kami po ang nabunot sa raffle, at dalawang car service vouchers ang na-avail namin sa Lazada,” he said.

A 7-seater SUV for the family
Featuring a facelift for the 2022 model year, the GAC GS8 comes with a more aggressive front end, as well as a more premium interior thanks to the new Alcantara leather seats. It also boasts triple-zone climate control and a 10-inch touchscreen to keep passengers comfortable and entertained on the go.

Santos will be cruising around town using the SUV’s 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that is capable of generating 199 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. Since this is the 4x2 Sports variant, power is sent exclusively to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The next-generation 2023 GAC GS8 is a midsize, seven-seater SUV. In the Philippine market, its 4x2 variant comes with an introductory price of Php 2,398,000, while the 4x4 version is priced at Php 2,648,000.
Under the hood of the GAC GS8 is a 2.0-liter gasoline engine that can make up to 248 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The said engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The GS8 size-wise, spans 4,980mm long, is 1,950mm wide, and 1,780mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,920mm.
Locally, the 2023 GAC GS8 competes against the Toyota Fortuner, Mazda CX-8, Mazda CX-9, Nissan Terra, Isuzu D-Max, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, and Ford Everest, among others.
