The Chinese automaker has sold 825 units so far this year. The company started its impressive sales performance when Astara Philippines took over the management role last December 2022.

“We are elated to celebrate our exceptional seven-month streak in sales performance, which is a testament to our team’s hard work, innovation, and trust our customers have in us,” said Astara Philippines Marketing Director Franz Decloedt.

Part of the improving sales figures is the new entries in the model lineup. Last January 2023, the automaker brought the Empow, a compact sports sedan that aims at the likes of the Honda Civic and MG6. The next-gen GS8 also arrived alongside the sedan with a more executive-looking design.

The all-new GAC GS3 Emzoom later joined the fray with a more assertive exterior design and a modern-looking interior. It looks to challenge the growing subcompact crossover market, which is home to models such as the Geely Coolray and Nissan Kicks.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has played a role in our success story – our customers who have chosen to drive with us, our partners who have supported our endeavors, and our dedicated team members who have worked tirelessly to make this all possible,” said Astara Philippines Managing Director Raoul Picello.

GAC Motor Philippines targets to improve its sales figures with the introduction of the new GS8 4WD variant. It should cater to Filipino buyers who are looking for a seven-seater vehicle capable of off-roading.
