The Las Piñas City government released an advisory that cars with Friendship Route stickers are not exempted from the expanded number coding scheme.

The said local government unit (LGU) said that vehicles with Friendship Route stickers still need to follow the number coding scheme set by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). As such, the said vehicles are prohibited on public roads from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The city government of Las Piñas clarified that vehicles with the said sticker may only pass through the “Friendship Route” within subdivisions, and not along the Alabang Zapote road.
The Las Piñas Friendship Route is an alternate route that is meant to ease or decongest traffic along the city’s main thoroughfare. The said route passes through private subdivisions in Las Piñas City such as Santos Village, Doña Manuela Subdivision, BF Resort Village, among others.
Last March 2022, the Las Piñas City government announced that motorists can apply for the Friendship Route stickers, provided that they are residents of the city.
Vehicles that are exempted from the expanded number coding are those listed in MMDA’s Resolution No. 22-14. The following vehicles are as follows: public utility vehicles (including tricycles), transport network vehicle services, motorcycles, garbage trucks, fuel trucks, marked government vehicles, trucks, ambulances, marked media vehicles, and vehicles carrying essential and/or perishable goods.
The expanded number coding coding has been implemented by the MMDA since August 15, 2022
The MMDA has also excluded the number coding exemption for senior citizens, and for persons with disability (PWD). MMDA council secretariat Atty. Crisanto Saruca Jr. said that there will be no exemptions since the expanded number coding has window hours.
The number coding scheme has been expanded by the MMDA last August 15. It has added number coding during the morning rush hour due to the expected increase in vehicle volume due to the resumption of the face-to-face classes, which was last August 22.
As such, vehicles with license plates ending in 1 and 2 are prohibited on Monday, 3 and 4 on Tuesday, 5 and 6 on Wednesday, 7 and 8 on Thursday, 9 and 0 on Friday during the said coding hours (7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.).
Meanwhile, number coding in Makati City is still from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday.
