Hyundai Motor Philippines’ latest car models are wowing the crowds at the Auto Focus Pre-Christmas Test Drive Festival at Block 16 of the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. These are the Hyundai Custin minivan and the Stargazer X crossover.

Both models are available for the public to take on test drives at the said event which will run until November 19, 2023, Sunday. Admission to the test drive event is free, and it is open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Introduced together just last month, the Custin and the Stargazer X might just be your next family-friendly daily chariot.
For those unfamiliar, the Custin slots between the smaller Stargazer MPV and the larger Staria. It uses a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine making 168 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque, and power is sent to its front wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The minivan also boasts tons of interior space filled with features like a 10.4-inch touchscreen, 10-way power adjustable 2nd-row captain seats, emergency braking, and blind spot monitoring, among others. Price-wise, the Custin minivan starts at Php 1,770,000.
Hyundai Custin on the road
The Hyundai Stargazer X meanwhile is a more rugged-looking version of the Stargazer. It gets black plastic body cladding, a larger set of 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and a more generous ground clearance of 200mm.
Like the standard Stargazer, this version is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that can make 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. Power is sent to its front wheels via an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), the brand’s version of a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Other Hyundai models also available for test drives at the Auto Focus event include the brand’s fully electric models: the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. Of note, these are back-to-back World Car of the Year award winners. Likewise available for visitors to try out are the Creta, Tucson, and Staria.

The Nissan Custin is a seven-seater minivan for the Philippine market. It has two different variants: The entry-level GLS priced at Php 1,770,000, and the top-spec Premium which retails at Php 2,080,000.

Hyundai Custin Launch
The 2024 Hyundai Custin was officially rolled out for the Philippine market in October 2023. At launch, it has two trims: the entry-level GLS, and the top-spec Premium. These are priced at Php 1.770 million and Php 2.08 million respectively.
Hyundai Custin Interior
Inside, the Custin can seat up to seven occupants. All of its seats are clad in leather, while its cabin is kept cool by an automatic climate control system. It driver then has access to a button-type gear selector, an electronic parking brake, a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a push-to-start button, and a day and night rear-view mirror, among others.
Depending on the trim, the Hyundai minivan also comes with rear window curtains, and a seat-back-mounted foldable table, and a ventilation and heating function for the second-row captain seats. Both trims then get a bench-type third-row seat.
Hyundai Custin Exterior
The Hyundai Custin assumes a stylish look thanks to sharp-looking LED headlamps and a sizable grille. On both of its sides, it features sliding doors providing easy entry and exit to its interior, while its rear gets a power tailgate.
Other niceties found on this Hyundai model are a power sunroof, power-folding side mirrors, automatic functionality for its LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, LED taillights, chrome garnished beltline moldings and door handles, and a rear spoiler with a high-mount stop lamp.
Technology & Safety Features
Providing onboard entertainment on the Custin is a 10.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. Charging is then done via a wireless pad, a 12-volt outlet, and USB ports.
For safety, this model gets a total of six airbags and a kit that many would expect from a modern vehicle. It has anti-lock braking, electronic stability control, hill-start control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, an around-view camera (Premium), an engine immobilizer, and a rear occupant alert, among others.
The standard safety bits on the Custin are supported by an array of advanced driver-assist safety features. This includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, parking distance warning, lane follow and lane keep assist, high beam assist, driver attention warning, and adaptive cruise control.

Platform & Chassis

There are three available color options for the 2024 Hyundai Custin. There’s Military Grey Metallic, Polar White, and Aurora Blue Pearl.
