Initially, the cars were “hole-in-one” prizes.

Jetour Auto Philippines has officially given away two Ice Cream electric vehicles (EV) as prizes for two lucky golfers at the 20th APT golf tournament last November 2023.

Interestingly, the two EVs were initially meant for golfers who made a hole-in-one during the competition - a difficult thing to do. No one made a lucky shot at the fairways, the APT organizers instead raffled the two cars during the tournament’s awarding ceremonies.

The two lucky golfers who get to drive home their brand-new Jetour Ice Cream EVs are Dr. Rolly Cinco and Atty. Steve Pastor. Of note, their prize cars were handed over at Jetour Auto Alabang on December 2, 2023.

The APT Cup is a golf tournament organized by former Department of Transportation (DOTr) secretary Arthur “Art” Planta Tugade–hence “APT.” It is participated by close associates and friends of the former transport chief. Around 158 golfers joined the said tournament in 2023.

For those who want to drive home their own Jetour Ice Cream EVs, be aware that its sole variant sold locally is priced at Php 699,000. It is one of the most affordable EVs in the Philippines right now. Plus, it comes with a 3-year or 100,000-kilometer vehicle warranty whichever comes first, and an eight-year or 120,000 km battery pack warranty.

Propelling the Ice Cream EV is an electric motor that can generate up to 27 horsepower and 85 Nm of torque. Power is sent to its front wheels and it can cover 170 km in just a single charge. Charging for this EV from zero to 100 percent takes eight hours when using a household power outlet.

While small, the Ice Cream EV has plenty of safety features including a driver’s side airbag, anti-lock braking, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a reverse camera, among others. The tiny EV model is likewise equipped with air-conditioning and a digital gauge cluster.
