Of note, this was a four-day contest that traversed very harsh jungle terrain in seven timed stages. The teams likewise had to complete a grueling 40-hour jungle crossing challenge starting from General Nakar, Quezon to Masanga Point, Dingalan Aurora. In its entirety, this expedition was designed to test the team’s off-road skills.

The winners were determined via a scoring system that evaluated their performance in the timed stages and various team tasks. The said team tasks were commenced in various campsites scattered across the 120-km-long expedition route. These included vehicle repair, vehicle recovery, a night driving challenge, and a jungle survival challenge, among others.

Team Ironman Pampanga

2nd place: Team Ironman Pampanga

Team MYTTires x FredGarage x GibaPH, which was the top team, received a total of 970 points, while Team Ironman Pampanga managed to get 958 points. Team Siga 4x4 which came in third meanwhile, received 852 points.

The PHOLX 2024 Champion brought home a Php 500,000 cash prize, while the second-placer received Php 200,000. The team in third place meanwhile, got to take home Php 100,000.

While the competition between the teams is a given, it is noteworthy to mention the strength of camaraderie they displayed during the race. One such example is Jassoren Flores of Team 119 who aided another team in dealing with a mud pit immediately after finishing the 40-hour jungle crossing challenge.

Team Siga 4x4

3rd place: Team Siga 4x4

Team Gensan X CDO, who had to return to the off-road competition’s starting point due to a “logistical dilemma”, likewise helped another team they encountered on their return journey.

With all that said, General Nakar lived up to its reputation of being one of the most challenging trails in the Philippines. But despite that, these off-roaders successfully showcased their skills, their mettle, and their sportsmanship.
