The first-generation Chevrolet Silverado was launched in August 1998 to compete with the Toyota Tundra, the Dodge Ram, the Nissan Titan, the Ford F-Series, and the Nissan Titan. It was initially powered with a 6.0-liter Vortec 6000 V8 matched with a light composite box.
Its second generation was revealed in 2006 featuring a revamped interior, exterior, suspension, and engine. Due to its outstanding overall performance, it was awarded as the North American Truck of the Year in 2007.
The third-generation Chevrolet Silverado was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in 2014. The refreshed pickup truck utilized the K2XX platform and was offered in three engine options.
Its fourth and current generation was launched in 2017. Locally, there are no official announcements if the new Chevrolet Silverado will be available in our market.
The Chevrolet Silverado measures 5,842mm long, 2,032mm wide, 1,884mm tall. It features a bold and mighty exterior that perfectly complements its intimidating stance. Technology & Safety Features
The Chevrolet Silverado is fitted with an eight-inch color touch radio with MyLink and Bluetooth connectivity. Navigation needs can be done through touch and voice commands.
In terms of safety, the Chevrolet Silverado is equipped with a generous number of airbags, lane departure warning alert, forward collision alert, hill start assist, trailer brake controller, safety alert driver seat, theft deterrent system, and more.
Platform & Chassis
The Chevrolet Silverado is fitted with a coil over front shock suspension and semi-elliptical two-stage multi-leaf spring rear suspension. To assist its braking power, all variants are equipped with front and rear discs with Duralife rotors.
Engine & Drivetrain
The Chevrolet Silverado runs using a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8, or a 6.2-liter V8 mated with a six-speed or an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is guaranteed to produce 285 to 420 horsepower with 305 to 460 Newton meters of torque.
