SsangYong Musso 2018 pickup truck launched at Geneva Motor Show

The pickup will go on sale in European market this summer.

Continuing hottest news of the Geneva Motor Show 2018, Ssang Yong has revealed an all-new Euro-spec pickup dubbed the SsangYong Musso 2018.

The car’s name means rhinoceros in Korea. As its name evokes, the Musso comes with a bold and rugged appearance and excellent off-road abilities.

Although the car seems modern and impressive, its body is made with a simple frame technique like the flagship Rexton which the SsangYong Musso 2018 is based on. Even though, that did not intrude on structural integrity.

Musso is made of 1.5 Gpa-grade high-strength steel in a quadrilateral frame - the first time ever appears in the world. Ssangyong informs that this makes the pickup more rigid than its rivals and helps reduce weight.

Under the hood, the SsangYong Musso 2018 also inherits an e-XDi220 engine from the Rexton. The powertrain is capable of cranking out 178 hp and 400 Nm of torque, works in conjunction with an Aisin 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission.

Getting inside, the Musso is quite well equipped, particularly when compared with other Euro-spec rivals in its segment. The Musso features full kit of equipment such as:

Apple CarPlay
Android Auto
Leather seats on the top-of-the-line model
Wi-Fi mirroring

Besides, the cabin is able to house up 5 people and offers a very large rear cargo space for loading a ton of luggage - which is only seen in Euro-spec vehicles. What’s more, the pickup boasts a great towing capability as it can pull up to 3.5 tons of items.
