2022 Nissan Navara PRO-4X - More Than Good Looks? | Philkotse Reviews
Back in 2020, Nissan brought in the all-new Navara which received a more aggressive exterior, more tech, and increased utility over the previous version. So, which of these trucks are better on paper? To find out, let’s compare the Nissan Navara Pro-4X 4x4 AT against the Mitsubishi Strada Athlete 4x4 AT. Both are top-spec trims, and they are relatively close when it comes to pricing.

2022 Nissan Navara vs Mitsubishi Strada: Engine and Performance
In terms of powertrains, the Navara Pro-4X uses a 2.5-liter turbodiesel inline-4 engine capable of making up to 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. It then uses a seven-speed gearbox that can be controlled manually using a gear lever.

The Strada Athlete meanwhile, is propelled by a 2.4-liter turbodiesel inline-4 mill that can generate 179 horsepower and 430Nm of torque. This engine is then paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, with a paddle-shifter manual mode.
Being top-spec trims, both of these trucks are offered with a 4x4 drivetrain with multiple 4x4 modes and differential lockers.
For suspensions, the Navara stands out in the local truck market as it is the only model that uses a multi-link type suspension system for its rear end. In turn, the Strada uses a more conventional leaf-spring rear suspension, and both models also come with a double-wishbone type suspension for the front.
Regardless of suspension systems, both trucks can carry a significant amount of cargo. For the Navara Pro-4X, it can lug up to around 1,000 kg. The Strada Athlete meanwhile, has a payload capacity of 950 kg.

On both the Navara Pro-4X and the Strada Athlete, braking is handled by front ventilated discs and rear drums, with a hand-operated parking brake as standard.
All in all, the Navara offers a bit more in terms of horsepower and torque. It also has “longer legs” as its gearbox has one more gear. Then again, the Strada might feel sportier due to having paddle shifters.

2022 Nissan Navara vs Mitsubishi Strada: Conclusion
To sum it up, both the Nissan Navara Pro-4X 4x4 AT and the Mitsubishi Strada Athlete 4x4 AT are well worth the money if what you’re after is a feature-rich, and comfortable daily driver that can carry stuff and go off-roading on the side.
The Nissan Navara Pro-4X from the side
Both are also well-kitted out safety-wise, but do note that the presence of a 360-degree view camera on the Nissan might be able to sway some folks to its side. Mind you, these trucks are not small vehicles, and having this kind of tech might be able to alleviate some people’s difficulties in maneuvering the tight local parking spots.
The Navara is also a bit more powerful than the Strada. Specifically, it makes 11 more horsepower and 20Nm more torque. So, if you value output numbers in a truck, then Nissan might be the way to go in this comparison.
The Strada Athlete's side profile
For styling, well, we’ll leave that up to you as per usual. Also, do take each of these models for a test drive yourself if you’re looking for your next truck. Spec comparisons are a good place to start, but nothing beats a good ol’ test drive.
