The Toyota Hiace first came into the Philippines last 2005 and it has been one of the most popular and best-selling vehicles for commercial use in the Philippines for the past few years.

Since its initial launch in the Philippine market 13 years ago the Hiace has not made a lot of changes on its appearance unlike other Toyota vehicles being sold in the market. Minimal facelifts and adjustments have only been done for the past few years.

Exterior Highlights:

The Hiace Commuter looks simple yet elegant on the outside. It has a smooth exterior and is also equipped with chrome plated front grille,  headlamps, side mirrors, and sturdy bumpers. Though the exterior is not as fancy as the SUVs’ it still has a certain elegant appeal on the road.

The Hiace Commuter has the following dimensions: Length at 4,695 mm, the width would be at 1,695 mm and 1,980 mm for the height. The Commuter has a wheelbase of 2,570 mm and a ground clearance of 185 mm. It also comes with a set of 15-in alloy metal wheels and the Commuter comes in color white pearl and silver metallic,

Interior Highlights:

In the Philippines, it is used as a public utility vehicle, and the Commuter can accommodate a minimum of 11 to 15 passengers depending on the model. There are basically 5 rows of seats and each row can accommodate medium-sized passengers comfortably. The seats of the basic variants are made of a synthetic leather material that comes with seat covers while fabric and premium leather seats are available in higher trims. The Hiace is considered as one of the most spacious vehicles that we have right now and has a maximum capacity of 6000 Liters

The van is a rear wheel drive that has a power of 136 hp @ 3,400 rpm and its maximum torque peaks at 300Nm @ 2400Rpm.

At top speed, the Commuter can run at a speed of 140kph with an acceleration rate of 20 seconds.

The Hiace Commuter runs on diesel fuel with a fuel capacity of 70 liters. It is also known to be fuel efficient with a consumption of 8L/100kms which is perfect for long drives to the province and for PUV purposes as well.

Other Features:

The Toyota Hiace comes standard with a standard set of airbags for both the driver and the front passenger. All of the seats are equipped with seat belts, crash sensors, front and side impact beams. While the higher variants get a couple of additional security features such as anti-theft device, Immobilizer, and anti-theft alarm.
