If you like movies with heart-pounding car chases, as well as classic Hyundai vehicles, then you’ll probably want to check out the latest Korean flick “Seoul Vibe.” It is now out on the streaming service Netflix, and it features several Hyundai vehicles that were initially released in the 1980s.

In the making of the movie in question, Netflix partnered up with Hyundai Motor Company to provide the starring cars in the film. Among these are the second-generation Sonata, Stellar, Porter, first-generation Grandeur, and Pony.
One of the more interesting of these classic Hyundai models appearing in the film is a heavily modified Pony pickup truck that uses an engine lifted from the Grandeur sedan. The Grandeur itself also appears in the film as a nod to being one of the most popular sedans during the era.
The gang is ready to go
These Hyundai vehicles provide a great deal of authenticity to the film, since it is set during the 1988 Seoul Olympics. The plot then involves a crack team of drivers attempting to get to the bottom of a money laundering operation.
The film stars an ensemble cast which include Yoo Ah-in (Burning, Hellbound), Lee Kyu-hyung (Prison Playbook), Park Ju-hyun (Extracurricular, The Forbidden Marriage), Go Kyung-pyo (Chicago Typewriter, Don’t Dare to Dream), Oh Jung-se (Swing Kids, Missing 9), among others.
Besides the release of Seoul Vibe, Hyundai is also launching a digital advertisement spin-off version that also features the cast and the plot of the movie. This will be released on YouTube and Instagram, and it will feature a teaser for the upcoming next-generation Hyundai Grandeur.

Hyundai is also dipping its toes in metaverse marketing via the Zepeto virtual world app. Through this, one can make an avatar and interact with the vehicles and stars that are featured in Seoul Vibe.
