New Jetour PH-Maybank alliance offers Ice Cream EV with P7K monthly

Proving that one doesn’t have to roll out the big bucks to buy an electric car.

Jetour Auto has established a partnership with Maybank Philippines. Through this collaboration, the two companies will work together to raise awareness of electric vehicles (EVs) as a more sustainable means of mobility.

This collaboration was then cemented during World Environment Day at the Synergy Center of the Maybank Corporate Center in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). Highlighted during the event was the Jetour Ice Cream EV (electric vehicle), the car brand’s entry into the growing electrified car market.

“We have always looked for partnerships that are aligned with our strategic thrusts and will be able to support our sustainability commitments to our customers and the community in general,” said Maybank Philippines President and CEO Abigail Tina Del Rosario.

The Ice Cream EV will spearhead the partnership’s initiative in promoting sustainable mobility through EVs. Thanks to Maybank, the EV model is made available with a 15-percent low down payment option or a monthly amortization for as low as Php 7,339. This gives car buyers a better chance to own an electric-powered car without breaking the bank.

Coming with a small and boxy design, the Ice Cream EV is equipped with U-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), a set of 12-inch steel wheels, and a two-tone exterior paint scheme. Meanwhile, the interior has an instrument gauge screen that doubles as the infotainment screen. It likewise gets a second row of seats.

Powering the model is an electric motor capable of generating 27 horsepower and 85 Nm of torque. It is connected to a 13.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, providing EV capabilities such as a 170 km range and an eight-hour full charging time.

The Ice Cream EV just got more attainable

Jetour Philippines is offering the Ice Cream EV starting at Php 699,000. The model is packaged with an 8-year battery warranty or 120,000 km (whichever comes first), as well as a 3-year vehicle warranty or 100,000 km (whichever comes first).

Jetour Ice Cream EV

The Jetour Ice Cream is an electric-powered subcompact car. In the Philippine market, its sole variant is priced at Php 699,000.

Propelling the Ice Cream is a 20 kW motor. This is then paired with a 13.9 kWh lithium-ion battery offering 170 kilometers of range. At maximum, this powertrain can output 27 horsepower and 85 Nm of torque. 

Size-wise, this EV is 2,980mm long, 1,496mm wide, and 1,637mm in height. Its wheelbase spans 1,960mm, and it has a ground clearance of 120mm.

The Jetour Ice Cream officially does not have rivals in the Philippine market. Its price, however, is within striking range of the Suzuki S-presso, and the lower-spec models of the Toyota Wigo and Honda Brio. 

 

Jetour Ice Cream EV Launch

The Jetour Ice Cream EV was launched in March 2023 together with the Jetour X70 and the Jetour Dashing. Its sole locally available variant is then priced at Php 699,000.

A pair of halogen headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, and LED taillights are present on the cute and boxy exterior of the Ice Cream EV. It also gets a rear fog lamp and a set of 12-inch steel wheels.

The interior of this small EV can seat up to four. All are kept comfortable by a manual air-conditioning system. It also gets a multi-function steering wheel, a digital gauge cluster, 12-volt power outlets, and fabric-clad seats. 

Technology & Safety Features

The digital gauge cluster of the Ice Cream double functions as the car’s infotainment system. It also functions as the display for the vehicle’s rearview camera. The said headunit likewise gets Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

Keeping its occupants safe is a driver’s side airbags, anti-lock braking, tire pressure monitor, and a reverse camera. The vehicle also gets ISOFIX child seat anchors. 

Jetour Ice Cream EV Chassis

The Ice Cream uses a MacPherson strut front suspension and a triple-link rear suspension. Braking for this model is then handled by a front disc brake, a rear drum brake, and a hand-operated manual parking brake.

Propelling the Ice Cream EV forward is a 20 kW motor that’s capable of churning out 27 horsepower and 85 Nm of torque. Its 13.9 kWh lithium-ion then provides 170 km of range in a single charge.
