Volkswagen Tharu 2024 Price Philippines & Official Promos

The 2024 Volkswagen Tharu is a five-seat compact crossover. For the Philippine market, this model has two variants - the SE and the SEL. These are priced at Php 1,808,000 and Php 1,945,000 respectively. 

Size-wise, the Tharu is 4,458mm long, 1,841mm wide, and 1,632mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,680mm. 

Propelling this crossover is a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine that’s capable of making up to 158 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Power is sent to its front wheels via a seven-speed direct-shift transmission. 

Locally, the Tharu competes against the likes of the Toyota Corolla Cross, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, MG HS, Changan CS55, etc.

The 2024 Volkswagen Tharu was introduced to the local market on September 29, 2023. It gets two different variants the SE and SEL. These are priced at Php 1,808,000 and Php 1,945,000 respectively. 

Volkswagen Tharu Exterior

On the outside, the Tharu gets LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, and LED taillights. It likewise comes standard with a sunroof, roof rails, rear fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers, and a power tailgate. 

The higher-spec SEL gets more in the way of exterior features. This comes in the form of a hands-free function for the power tailgate, and an adaptive front lighting system. Its front fog lamps and cornering lights are also integrated into its headlamp cluster.

Inside, the Tharu can seat up to five occupants. The top-spec version gets leather seats, 12-way power-adjustable front seats, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The standard for the Tharu is a 60:40 split-folding rear seat, ambient lighting, keyless entry with a push-to-start button, as well as cruise control with a speed limiter. 

Technology & Safety Features

Depending on the variant, this VW model gets a 12-inch touchscreen with a 10.25-inch gauge cluster. The central touchscreen gets Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. It is then linked to a six-piece speaker system. 

For charging, the Tharu SE gets two type C USB ports for the front, and type A and C ports for the rear, as well as a wireless smartphone charging pad. 

Volkswagen Tharu Engine

Under the hood of the Tharu is a 1.5-liter engine that can generate 158 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Power is sent to its front wheels via a seven-speed DSG transmission. 

Volkswagen Tharu Chassis

The Tharu uses a MacPherson strut front suspension and a four-link rear suspension. Braking is handled by disc brakes for all four wheels. 

There are four available exterior color options for the 2024 Volkswagen Tharu. This includes pure white, mangan grey, petroleum blue, and polytech blue. 

Compared to its competitors, the Volkswagen Tharu is at the higher end of the spectrum when it comes to making. It also gets plenty of convenient features just like its rivals. But strangely enough, the model lacks Android Auto. it does come with Apple CarPlay though.
