After leaving the Philippine market for quite a long time, Volkswagen came back to the country in 2013. Making Automobile Central Enterprise Inc as its sole Volkswagen Distributor in the market, named Volkswagen Philippines.
The partnership was officially penned on May 27, 2013 in HongKong and attended by many important persons such as John Philipp, Ayala Automotive Holdings’ CEO and President and Weiming Soh, the Executive Vice President of Commercial Operations Volkswagen Group.
This partnership is hoped to bolster the influence of Volkswagen in the Philippine auto industry. Volkswagen has started making vehicles since the 1930s and covered more than 150 countries, building over a hundred factories to let out 10m units.
