Maxus is a Chinese vehicle brand being a wholly-owned subsidiary of SAIC Motors. With this being said, the future of Maxus is promising as SAIC Motors was named the 7th largest automotive company in the world.
The first-ever Maxus vehicle, the V80, was shown off to the world back in the 2011 Auto Shanghai Motor Show and consequently, the Maxus V80 was then distributed to a number of countries like Australia, Thailand, China, and of course, the Philippines.
The name Maxus was taken from the LDV Maxus which can be called the progenitor of the current V80 van as the two share similar design cues inside and out. In the years since 2011, Maxus has grown its business and is now distributing vehicles in numerous countries like in the Americas, most notably Chile where the Maxus T60 pickup truck has become a great success.
On October 2, 2018, Ayala Corporation announced that AC Motors is the official distributor of Maxus vehicles in the Philippines. Maxus first introduced the G10 and V80 – and later introduced the Maxus T60 in 2020.
