The GAC GS4, also known as the Trumpchi GS4 in other parts of the world was initially revealed at the 2015 North American International Auto Show as a pre-production concept. It shares the same platform with its sibling, the GAC GA3S and its size stand between the GA GS3 and the GA GS5.
In the same year, the final production model was launched at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition. An electric version was also unveiled in the event.
In 2018, the Chinese company released a refreshed version complete with sportier exterior details and an upgraded dashboard. In the same year, they unveiled the “Millionth Edition” built LED headlights and a wide panoramic sunroof.
Locally, this highly-anticipated crossover was introduced together with its reliable siblings on the car brand’s successful launch in November 2018.
Compared to other vehicles in its league, the GAC GS4 flaunts an impressive size. It measures 4,510mm tall, 1,852mm wide, and 1,708mm with a wheelbase of 2,650mm. Its mighty front displays a wide hexagonal grille matched with a pair of halogen headlights with follow-me-home function, LED daytime running lights, and fog lights. Its robust body, detailed with character lines and sporty curves, features a large roof rail, black cladding, and power-folding heated side mirrors. Its rear is affixed with fog lights, LED high mounted brake lights, and a subtly-structured boot lid.
Supporting this impressive crossover is a set of sturdy 17-inch to 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
The GAC GS4 offers a roomy black and brown cabin that can comfortably accommodate five fully-grown adults. Highlights inside include the wide dashboard in yacht-like presentation, four-spoke multifunction steering wheel with controls, automatic air conditioning with air filter, six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, second-row aircon vents, and 60:40 split and reclining second-row seats.

The GAC GS4 is fitted with an advanced audio, video, and navigation system paired with four to six speakers. It is built with a generous number of airbags, an anti-lock braking system with EBD, electronic stability program, hill-start hold control, hill descent control, electronic parking brake with auto hold, ISOFIX anchors for children seats, engine immobilizer, and more.
Platform & Chassis
The GAC GS4 utilizes the GAC AF Platform and is built with a McPherson Strut suspension at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear. Its braking power is assisted with discs at the front and back.
Engine & Drivetrain
The GAC GS4 is a front-engine, front-wheel-drive vehicle powered with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine matched with a six-speed automatic transmission. It can make up to 151 horsepower and 235 Nm of torque.
