The Audi A8 was introduced at the 1994 Geneva Auto Show as a replacement for the Audi V8. It was built in an all-aluminum monocoque with the Volkswagen Group D2 platform. The second generation was launched in 2002 manufactured using the Volkswagen Group D3 platform with various engine options. The third generation was unveiled in 2009 using the Volkswagen D4 platform packed with technological updates. In 2017, the German company launched the fourth generation Audi A8 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Locally, the revamped and technology-packed Audi A8 was revealed in 2019.
