Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., is a Chinese automaker company headquartered in Wuhu, Anhui, China. It was first founded in 1997 but started its car production in 1999. Chery mainly focuses on manufacturing passenger cars, minivans, and SUVs – while its commercial vehicles were sold under the Karry brand, a subsidiary of Chery.
In 2007, Chery opened up its dealership in the Philippines – selling its models such as Cowin, Eastar, and QQ. Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out as expected as the Chinese automaker faced many quality issues and market challenges – forcing it to stop its operations in the country.
However, Chery cars were once again reintroduced to the Philippine market by the United Asia Automotive Group (UAAGI), the official distributor of Foton. Chery brought its four new crossover and SUV models under the Tiggo name – the Tiggo 2, Tiggo 5X, Tiggo 7, and Tiggo 8.
Chery provides its customers with a top-notch 10-year/one-million-kilometer powertrain warranty on top of a five-year vehicle warranty. In addition, the Chinese automaker will also provide a free preventive maintenance service for three years.
