The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is a subcompact, five-seater, all-wheel-drive crossover. In the local market, this model has the Crosstrek 2.0i-L Eyesight CVT and the Crosstrek 2.0i-S EyeSight variants. The former has a standard retail price of Php 1,998,000, while the i-S can be had for Php 2,018,000. The Crosstrek GT in turn, is priced at Php 2,088,000. 

Under the hood of the Subaru Crosstrek is a 2.0-liter boxer four engine that is capable of producing up to 154 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to all four wheels via a continuously variable transmission. 

Size-wise, the Philippine-spec Crosstrek is 4,480mm long, 1800mm wide, and 1,600mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,670mm and a ground clearance of 220mm. 

Locally, the Subaru Crosstrek rivals the Mazda CX-3, and Mazda CX-30, Honda HR-V, Audi Q2, among others. 

Launch

The current locally available version of the Subaru Crosstrek was introduced to the Philippine market in July 2023. Previously known as the XV, it is Subaru's most popular offering known for its adventurous design combined with its all-wheel-drive system, EyeSight advanced driver assist features, and a wide array of amenities. 

At the 2024 Manila International Auto Show, Subaru launched the bolder-looking Crosstrek GT Edition. 

Subaru Crosstrek Exterior

The all-new Subaru Crosstrek features an adventure-ready look combined with a sleek profile, at least for a crossover. Standard on this model are LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, LED taillights, a hexagonal grille, plastic body cladding, and roof rails. 

For wheels, the top-spec 2.0i-S gets 18-inch alloys wrapped in 225/55 R18 tires. The 2.0i-S is also the only trim that comes with front fog lamps. 

Subaru Crosstrek Interior

Found inside the Crosstrek is a spacious cabin that's good for up to five occupants. Standard aboard this model are leather seats, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and a dual-zone climate control system, among others. The driver is then provided with an analog gauge cluster with a digital instrument display. 

Present on the top-spec 2.0i-S are aluminum pedals, a tilt-adjustable sunroof, and a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat.

Technology & Safety Features

All trims of the Crosstrek are equipped with an 11.6-inch HD touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. Charging is then done via a wireless smartphone charging pad, and USB type A and type C ports. 

For safety, the Crosstrek gets a total of seven airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, ABS, active torque vectoring, vehicle dynamics control, a rear-view parking camera, hill-descent control, and the Subaru EyeSight 4.0. The latter is a collection of ADAS features that includes adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane keep assist, collision throttle management, and automatic emergency steering, to name a few. 

Platform & Chassis

As with most Subaru cars, the Crosstrek comes with a symmetrical all-wheel drivetrain. It uses a Macpherson Strut suspension at the front and a double wishbone at the rear. Braking is supported by ventilated discs at the front and back.
 

Engine & Drivetrain

The new Subaru Crosstrek is powered by a four-cylinder  DOHC 16-valve gasoline engine with a Lineartronic CVT transmission. Its engine can produce 154hp and 196Nm of torque.

Subaru Crosstrek 2024 Comparison with similar cars

Output-wise, the Subaru Crosstrek is more powerful than most of its competitors, save for the Audi Q2. As for its on-board features, it is also as well equipped. Beyond that, it potentially offers more cargo space and legroom than its rivals due to having a longer wheelbase, and a slightly overall length. The Crosstrek also has the most ground clearance among its rivals within the same price range.
