After a recent facelift, the Rolls-Royce Phantom is set to redefine the luxury car segment with its latest offerings. It is the second generation among the contemporary Phantom models, and the eighth generation since it was first manufactured. The saloon has now become the benchmark of ride comfort through its cabin features and excellent engineering. Built-in comfort, the Phantom’s spacious cabin is considered the quietest in the world. It comes with all the Rolls-Royce trademark furnishings that one could think of from an ultra-luxury sedan. Likewise, it is equipped with the signature magic carpet-like ride suspension system that ensures the highest level of ease. Locally available are two wheelbase lengths making up the two variants which are the Rolls-Royce Phantom V12 AT SWB and the Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase V12 AT.

Currently in its eighth generation, the Rolls-Royce Phantom’s most recent model was introduced to the Philippine premium automotive market in October 2018.
The latest generation Rolls-Royce Phantom is styled with much smoother lines giving the timeless vehicle a more contemporary aesthetic and innovation. Its front fascia is flanked with narrow fog lamps and LED headlamps that are speed-adaptive, illuminating a larger coverage even when cornering. In its ultra-luxurious fashion, the Phantom comes with rear-hinged doors that open up to an equally compelling cabin. The luxury sedan rides on 21-inch alloys to complete the opulent look.
The interior is designed with tranquility and serenity in mind, thus, it is made with more than 130 kilos of sound-canceling material. The floor and the bulkhead are double-skin alloy materials into which the sound-absorbing materials are fitted. The Phantom is considered as the quietest vehicle in the world because of this added trim.
As expected from Rolls-Royce, the Phantom comes with a plethora of fine leather, curated wood, and polished metal. Stepping into the incredibly spacious cabin, passengers are greeted with a drinks cabinet that contains the trademark Rolls-Royce champagne flutes and leather-upholstered seats with massage and heating functions. On the ceiling is a Starlight Headliner which shows the night sky through optic-fiber LED.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom is equipped with a Multi-Information Display LCD with a Trip Computer. It allows easy access to the vehicle’s performance information, entertainment system, and safety features. In addition to this is the latest bespoke technology called the Gallery that reinterprets the dashboard.
Safety is another priority of the British brand with an Immobilizer, Cruise control, Push start button, and an Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist that come as standard. It is also equipped with cameras around the body and a camera system fixed into the windshield to determine the road condition ahead. This intelligent drive feature helps the vehicle anticipate road conditions and adjust its suspension proactively.
The 2-door 4-seater luxury sedan rides on the scalable Architecture of Luxury platform which is an all-aluminum space-frame exclusive to Rolls-Royce. The Phantom is the first model to use this platform that will be applied to the brand’s nameplates moving forward. Like other nameplates in the British brand’s lineup, the Phantom comes with an air suspension creating the signature magic carpet ride experience. The suspension comes in the form of Independent double wishbones in front and independent multi-link at the rear while stopping power comes from disc brakes all around.
Both variants of the Rolls-Royce Phantom are powered by a 6.75-litre V12 gasoline engine. The top-spec extended wheelbase variant is equipped with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission producing 453 hp and 710 Nm of torque, while the base variant comes with a 6-speed Automatic transmission spewing out 460 hp and 720 Nm of torque. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels.
