The Lexus NX was initially launched at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition on April 20, 2014. Sales in other parts of the world including the Philippines began in the last quarter of the same year. In July 2020, Lexus Philippines introduced an upgraded version of this powerful crossover.
All variants of the Lexus NX measure 4,640mm long, 1,845mm wide, and 1,630mm tall with a 2,660mm wheelbase. Its athletic body is designed with sharp and contemporary details that successfully merges with a luxurious vibe. Highlights include a pair of wide three-eyed cornering LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, exterior side mirror with heater, illuminated door handles, front and rear fog lamps, a hands-free rear hatch with a sensor, LED tail lamps, single or dual tailpipe diffuser depending on the variant, and rear spoiler. Standard on the Lexus NX is a set of durable 225/60 R18 7.5 J wheels.
Inside, the Lexus NX boasts a roomy cabin with a generous 962mm distance between the front and rear seats. The Lexus NX 300 is fitted with faux leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifter, and dual-zone air conditioning system. The Lexus NX 300h and the Lexus NX 300 F Sport are upgraded with leather seats, front seats with eight-way power adjuster, seat memory for the driver’s seat, leather-covered steering wheel with paddle shifter, and electrochromic inside rearview mirror.
Technology & Safety Features
Providing entertainment, information, and other important driving details is a 10.3-inch multi-information screen with eight to ten speakers depending on the variant.
The Lexus NX is packed with safety features such as eight SRS airbags, hill start assist, an anti-lock brake system with brake assist, vehicle stability control, traction control, child lock protection, sensors for reverse and clearance, back guide monitor, and rain-sensing wipers.
Platform & Chassis
All variants of the Lexus NX are built with a MacPherson Strut suspension at the front and a Double Wishbone at the rear. Braking power is assisted by a 17-inch disc at the front and 16-inch disc at the rear.
Engine & Drivetrain
The Lexus NX 300h runs using a four-cylinder, inline, 16-valve DOHC engine paired with a NiMH synchronous motor. It is fitted with a CVT transmission and promises 153 horsepower with 210 Newton meters.
The Lexus NX 300 and the Lexus NX 300 F Sport are powered by the same gasoline engine and are mated with a six-speed automatic transmission. It can generate 235 horsepower with 350 Newton meters.
