The Lexus LC 500 is a rear-wheel-drive, high-performance coupe. In the Philippine market, this has two different trims. There’s the LC 500 5.0 AT, the LC 500 Convertible 5.0 AT. Each comes with a price tag of Php 10,878,000 and Php 12,118,000 respectively.  

Under the hood, the LC 500 uses a 5.0-liter V8 gasoline engine that’s capable of making up to 471 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque. Power is sent to its rear wheels via a ten-speed automatic gearbox. 

Size-wise, the LC 500 is 4,770mm long, 1,920mm wide, and 1,345mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,870mm.

Lexus LC Launch

The Lexus LC, which stands for “Luxury Coupe” had a concept vehicle introduction at the Detroit Auto Show in 2012. The production model debuted at the same venue in 2016. The grand tourer was based on the LF-LC concept also known as Lexus Future-Luxury. 

In 2016, a hybrid model named the Lexus LC 500h was launched at the Geneva International Motor Show. It runs with a 3.5-liter V6 engine mated with a lithium-ion battery. 

Locally, the Lexus LC 500 was initially previewed at the 2016 Philippine International Motor Show. A year later, Lexus Manila made the grand tourer available in the market.

The 2024 Lexus LC 500 stands 4,770mm long, 1,920mm wide, and 1,345mm tall with a wheelbase that measures 2,870mm. Its ultra-sleek front features the Japanese company’s signature spindle grille with a 3D mesh pattern, nicely compact three-Bi LED headlamp, and arrowhead LED daytime running lights. Its low body, purposely designed to aid its overall performance, is sculpted with the right amount of curves and line that heightens its graceful sexiness. 

At the back, a pair of contemporary L-shaped taillights constructed using 80 LED lights with LED daytime running lights provide illumination. Other highlights at the rear include an efficient active rear wing, four tailpipe diffusers, and innovative aero ducts.

Providing infotainment is a 10.3-inch display screen with 13 speakers strategically placed inside the cabin. 

As for safety, the Lexus LC 500 comes with a wide range of features such as the impact-absorbing pop-up hood, cruise control, blind-spot monitor, LED cornering lamp, eight reliable sensor-activated SRS airbags, vehicle stability control, brake assist, hill-start assist, vehicle stability control, and back guide monitor.

The Lexus LC 500 is a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive automobile built with the Toyota New Global Architecture platform. It is fitted with six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers on the rear to advance its braking power. It is built with a multi-link suspension at the front and rear.

The Lexus LC 500 Philipines runs using a V8 32-valve DOHC Dual VVT-i engine mated with a ten-speed automatic transmission. It is guaranteed to produce 470 horsepower with 540 Newton meters.

For the local market, the LC 500 has a total of eleven color options. These include White Nova Glass Flake, Mercury Gray Mica, Sonic Silver, Sonic Titanium, Black, Graphite Black Glass Flake, Radiant Red Contrast Layering, Blazing Cernelian Contrast Layering, Naples Yellow, Terrane Khaki Mica Metallic, and Deep Blue Mica. 

In terms of engine output, the LC 500 is far from the most powerful coupe in the local market. It is however, still fairly agile, and it is more than a match against its rivals in terms of interior comfort and safety. Do note though that this model is one of the most customizable coupes straight from the factory right now due to the fact that it has a whopping 11 color exterior options.
