Based in Dearborn, Michigan, Ford is an American multinational automaker that has been around for the better part of 116 years.
In 1903, Ford was founded by none other than Henry Ford and the company was incorporated in the same year. Ford is also responsible for introducing large-scale car manufacturing methods as well as the management of a large industrial workforce, the backbone of which was moving assembly lines. Otherwise known as Fordism. So without Ford, car manufacturing wouldn't have become what it is today.
In 1989 and in the year 2000, Ford also acquired Jaguar and Land Rover. Ford also owned Volvo from 1999 to 2020.

Currently, Ford is the second largest American automaker and is the fifth largest in the world. In 2018, they also made it as the eleventh overall American company in the Fortune 500 list.
When it comes to motorsport, Ford has dipped its toes in almost every major motorsport event. Formula One, IndyCar, NASCAR, Rally, Drifting, Touring Cars, Drag Racing, you name it.
