Nissan Terra Vl 4x4

Nissan finally joins the mid-size diesel SUV party with its new Navara-based Terra. Unlike most of its main Japanese rivals though, instead of taking the funky futuristic crossover styling route, this one sticks to a modern but traditional rugged SUV look like one of its key American competitors. One thing for sure, this is unmistakably Nissan with styling cues borrowed from both the Navara pickup and the legendary Patrol SUV.

In 2019 the Navara was given a new grille with black mesh, the mid-level VE and top VL variants get a new rear spoiler. Other upgrades include a revised instrument cluster and a larger infotainment system touchscreen. For 2021, the top VL trim gets the gloss-black treatment, its grille, bumper trim, foglamp accents, door handles, side-mirror caps, side steps and 18-inch alloys are all finished in gloss-black.

Under its hood is a small but powerful YD25 DDTi inline-4 diesel with a variable turbocharger and intercooler. It pumps out 187hp and 450Nm of torque. 4x2 models can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual mode, The range topping 4x4 can only be had with the automatic tranny.
