The BAIC B60 Beaumont was introduced to the Philippine market at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show together with the B40 Ragnar, B80 Wagon, X55 Verve, and X7 Grandeza. As of its launch, its sole variant for the local market is priced at Php 3,188,000.
On the outside, the B60 Beaumont gets an assertive-looking boxy shape with its beefy fenders, square-shaped LED lamps, and its wide windows. Amongst its BAIC siblings, however, it is comparably less boxy, instead opting for a sleeker more luxurious overall design.
Exterior features found on the B60 include roof rails, a set of 18-inch alloy wheels, power-folding side mirrors, LED lighting elements, and some measure of chrome trim pieces on its front bumper, window line, and doors.
Reinforcing the luxurious feel that it's going for, the B60's insides show a wealth of features and technologies. It boasts leather-wrapped seats, plenty of soft-touch surfaces, a panoramic sunroof, as well as active noise canceling.
The B60 is also the only three-row model within the BAIC SUV lineup. That said, it is a family-friendly ride that still has the mechanical bits for off-road terrain.
Providing on-board entertainment for the B60 is a 12.8-inch touchscreen headunit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is linked to a 13-piece Infinity sound system.
Besides its standard safety equipment, the B60 also features a comprehensive advanced driver-assist suite (ADAS). The most notable of these ADAS features are adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, emergency braking, and blind-spot detection, among others.
The 2024 BAIC B60 Beaumont is classed as a full-size SUV. It uses a body-on-frame chassis with a McPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link for the rear. Stopping power meanwhile, is provided by disc brakes for all four wheels.
The B60 uses a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine paired with a 48-volt motor. Together, this hybrid system can put out 163 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It also comes standard with a locking rear differential.
The 2024 BAIC B60 Beaumont certainly has enough features to face its biggest rivals. Its key strength tough, is its hybrid powertrain - something that is currently a rarity amongst other full-size off-road capable SUVs in the market today.
