The Alfa Romeo Giulia was launched in June 2015. It is the first saloon produced by the legendary Italian carmaker after they discontinued the Alfa Romeo 159 in 2011. The Alfa Romeo Giulia is also the first to utilize a longitudinal rear-wheel platform in over two decades after the Alfa Romeo 75 after they ended its production in 1992.
In 2017, it was named second as the “European Car of the Year” for its outstanding built and supreme road performance. In 2018 it was hailed as the “Motor Trend Car of the Year” by the reliable American automobile magazine Motor Trend.
Locally, the Alfa Romeo Giulia was made available in the Philippines in 2018 through the efforts of Petromax Enterprise.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia measures 4,639mm long, 1,873mm wide, and 1,426mm tall with a 2,820mm wheelbase. It features a sleek and curvy exterior made even more striking with the triangular grille that extends up to its front hood. The Alfa Romeo Giulia is built with Double-wishbone suspension at the front and an Alfalink suspension with vertical rods at the rear. Its braking power is assisted vented rotors at the front and rear.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a rear-wheel-drive compact sedan offered in a 500 horsepower 2.9-liter six-cylinder engine and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 200 horsepower. Both are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
