The Toyota Camry 2018 is the first generation to be inspired by and developed on the new TNGA platform.

The mid-size Toyota Camry sedan has built a great reputation in the auto industry, in which its sale figures have consistently continued to be on top position in the Philippine market. In the older generation, the Toyota Camry has been the optimal choice for most of those who love the luxury, the modern technology and the trademark durability such as the Toyota brand.

The Toyota Camry 2018 was born to the established fame but also possesses a wide range of features that signal an amazing departure and reasonably merit its own reputation.

I. Things you may cherish in the Toyota Camry 2018

1.  Riding on a new platform

The manufacturer reveals that the 2018 model is the first generation to be inspired by and developed on the new TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform to make its rigidity increased by 30% compared to the older generation. Furthermore, this car also gives the sporty feeling to its users due to the rigid chassis structure and lowered focus. Many automotive experts agree that the TNGA underpinnings make this model stiffer, lighter, and easier to be handled.

2. Coming with impressive accelerations

The Toyota Camry 2018 is the latest generation with the eight-speed transmission, which leads to its acceleration really standing out in the crowd. Meanwhile, it works smoothly and durably thanks to the flexible engine.

3. Owning an innovative exterior

Despite being inspired by the exterior details of the older generation, the latest model has been completely overhauled due to the more modern style and luxurious and eye-catching parts even when looking from all sides. Compared to the appearance of its predecessor, its exterior is impressive and dynamic with slender HID headlights, faux side air vents, and an outstanding chrome grille.

All in all, thanks to its irresistible sexy flawless new design, this new interation of the Camry is absolutely worth a slot in the list of most-anticipated upcoming cars 2018 in the Philippines.

4. Having a luxurious interior

Not only are there changes in the appearance of this D class car model but there is also an improvement in its interior to make it look more modern and luxurious. In particular, the dashboard design is extremely elegant and flexible with the sharp-cut lines that catch the eyes of the most difficult passengers. Compared to its immediate predecessor, its seats is completely redesigned with soft material, which enhances the comfort for car users. In addition, the car has a panoramic sunroof which is expected to create a good feeling of getting closer to nature.

5. Offering plenteous engine options

  • The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 206hp and 252Nm of torque combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
  • The hybrid engine helps the car reach a capacity of 176hp and 221Nm of torque with the CVT gearbox.
  • The premium version features a 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 301hp and 362Nm of torque combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

II. Things might disappoint you in the Toyota Camry 2018

1. Lack of some most popular technological features

In this technology era, the absence of built-in connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto makes the latest generation of Camry underestimated at the most. However, users will be compensated by the available 4G LTE connectivity for up to five devices. This system can also generate wifi, which sounds pretty awesome honestly.

Sadly, it has no popular technological features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

2. Smaller trunk compared to those of its rivals

While the Honda Accord trunk measures 16.7 cubic feet, its trunk measures only 15.1 cubic feet. This makes the interior of the Camry 2018 slightly smaller than that of its rivals. But that is not a big problem because this latest generation is still more spacious than any of its predecessors.

3. Relatively high pricing

The Toyota Camry 2018 is sold in the US market with the starting price of 24,390 US dollars (which is equivalent to about P1,284,000) while the Honda Accord is priced at 23,330 US dollars (about P1,230,000). Although there is no significant price difference between these two cars in foreign countries, it is a whole new matter to be given careful consideration by customers in the Philippines.

As the 8th-gen Toyota Camry was already rolled out in Australia last year and more importantly, the V6 model is no longer available for sale in the Philippines, we have good reasons to believe the next-gen Toyota Camry Philippines will arrive in our country very soon. While waiting for further updates, let's refer to the table below for the latest prices of the Toyota Camry currently marketed in the local market:
