Getting the most out of every liter of fuel is the top priority of most motorists. This is especially true nowadays due to the current fuel prices. While we wait for further fuel price rollbacks, Isuzu Philippines conducted a five-day road trip to test how efficient the all-new D-Max, and mu-X are.
All-new Isuzu D-Max
Isuzu Philippines teamed up with the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) for the One Full Tank Challenge featuring the D-Max pickup truck, and the seven-seater mu-X midsize SUV. The two Isuzu vehicles embarked on a five-day road trip from Subic up to Ilocos, and then down to Bicol.
Isuzu PH said that the D-Max and the mu-X were driven “normally, traversing different road, traffic, and weather conditions” during the five-day Subic-Ilocos-Bicol road trip.
The all-new Isuzu D-Max was able to clock in a travel distance of 1,564 kilometers, and the car brand claims that it has managed to return 20.58 km/l in just one full tank. Meanwhile, the next-gen Isuzu mu-X drove for 1,675 km, translating to 20.94 km/l in one full tank.
Isuzu PH and AAP went on a five-day road trip
Isuzu PH did not share other info such as the average speed of the two vehicles. The Japanese marque’s statement also did not mention how many people were onboard the two vehicles during the said five-day road trip.
Last April 2022, Isuzu PH also pitted the Traviz for the One Full Tank Challenge. As its challenger in the commercial vehicle segment, the Traviz is designed as a business mobility partner specifically for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The starting point of the drive is at Isuzu PH’s new dealership in La Union. From there, the Isuzu Traviz headed north all the way to Pagudpud, then down to Cagayan on its first day.

On the second day, the Traviz traveled south before settling the night in Clark, Pampanga. Then, it drove through the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) up to the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) before reaching its final stop at Pagbilao, Quezon.
The Isuzu Traviz clocked in a total of 1,063 kilometers during the three-day drive from La Union to Pagbilao, Quezon. This translates to a fuel economy of 21.3 km/l. The said drive was also observed and certified by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP).
