Kia Philippines is proud to announce that the Carnival won three accolades at the 2022-2023 Auto Focus Media’s Choice Awards (AFMCA).

Now in its 18th year, AFMCA, organized by Sunshine Television and Marketing Services, Inc. (STV), handed the Kia Carnival the Best Design, Best Engine Performance, and Best Safety Features awards under the Standard MPV category.

When the fourth-generation Kia Carnival arrived in the local market, the vehicle wowed Filipinos with its new premium-looking design. Dubbed “symphonic architecture,” this gave the Carnival futuristic character lines, a unique C-pillar layout, and a subtle diamond pattern reflected throughout the body.

The premium appeal continues on the inside. Thanks to the power tailgate and power sliding doors, accessing the cabin gives a luxurious feel. Kia Philippines said that the Carnival can offer “first-class treatment that will even impress the most season VIPs.”

As for the award-winning engine performance, the Carnival is powered by a 2.2-liter VGT CRDi (diesel) mill capable of generating 199 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque. It sends power exclusively to the front wheels via a Smartstream 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.

Among the safety features that encouraged the AFMCA’s top Philippine automotive media practitioners to recognize the Carnival with the Best Safety Features award are Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. It also has cruise control, Blind Spot Detection, and a camera display as standard.

The Kia Carnival is not only earning accolades locally but also in global markets. It won the Good Design Awards for 2021, Top Safety Pick Award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), 2022 Family Vehicle of the Year by AutoGuide, Best News Cars for 2022 by AutoTrader, and Best Minivan by Newsweek Autos Award.
