The Blue Oval’s Operation Better World received its accolade under the Drive to Serve Award’s Community Development category. Meanwhile, Ford’s Auto Mechanic Scholarship Program was awarded under the Education and Training Category.

These prestigious honors from SPMJ highlight the achievements of automotive companies in their mission to impact the community positively. For the past six years, Ford Philippines has been a consistent award recipient of SPMJ’s Drive to Serve Awards

Of note, the Ford Operation Better World is an ongoing program that has been around since 2013. It focuses on promoting self-sufficiency and health awareness through neighborhood-based educational programs.

The program likewise provides various health services through medical and dental missions. Under this initiative, Ford PH is partnered with Gawad Kalinga (GK) - a non-government organization focused on poverty alleviation and nation-building.

The Ford Auto Mechanic Scholarship Program, in turn, was established in 2016. Since then, it has already supported over 130 students who have completed the 15-month automotive technician program at the Don Bosco Technical Institute-Technical Vocational and Education and Training (TVET) Center in Makati City. In 2023, thirty scholars are expected under this program. Furthermore, over 70 percent of graduates are now gainfully employed.

Beyond these award-winning activities, Ford in partnership with GK, spearheaded a total of six community activities to celebrate the 2023 Global Caring Month. Over 150 Ford employees, executives, and dealer employees generated a total of 1,260 volunteer hours dedicated to tree planting works, and food donation drives, among others.

On that note, Ford has vowed to continue the positive impact it is making on the community for years to come.
