Part of the 16,000 km test was enduring 51℃ weather.

The Jaecoo brand has yet to make its Philippine debut but the automaker is proving it can be a strong contender in the market by showcasing the durability of its products. The company is doing this via an ongoing endurance test for the Jaecoo 7. The company says it has already clocked 10,000 miles (16,093 km) under extreme heat in China.

According to the brand, the highest temperature recorded was in Turpan, China, where the Jaecoo 7 had to endure 51 degrees Celsius. Despite the scorching weather, the SUV showed strong stability by starting successfully in one go, with all functions properly working.

The vehicle’s interior cooling was also given positive feedback. Based on the company’s test data, the vehicle managed to reduce the temperature in the interior by 44 degrees Celsius in just 10 minutes. According to the brand, this was recorded in Turpan where ambient temperatures reached 51 degrees Celsius and 80 degrees Celsius inside the car.

The Jaecoo 7 also proved the performance of its ARDIS (all-road drive intelligent system). It allows the suspension to adapt to road conditions, ensuring a safer off-road experience. The vehicle is also equipped with a 540-degree camera that provides drivers with a better view of their surroundings.

The automaker will continue to test the Jaecoo 7 in various conditions. The next stop will be the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in its homeland. It will test whether the SUV can endure the extreme environment of being 5,200 mm above sea level.

Under the hood is a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine capable of generating 290 Nm of torque, with the horsepower figure yet to be determined. The automaker claims the SUV can go from zero to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and achieve a fuel efficiency rating of around 13 km/l.

Jaecoo, along with Omoda, is planning to enter the Philippine market before the year ends. The O&J brand is also expected to open eight dealerships this year.
