Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has updated the mu-X midsize SUV with added safety features and wireless connectivity.

Isuzu Philippines said that the updates integrated into its seven-seater SUV are meant to further improve convenience and driving pleasure. The 2024 Isuzu mu-X now comes with an Around View Monitor (AVM), providing a 360-degree view of the vehicle’s outside surroundings.

This added feature utilizes multiple cameras that significantly reduce blind spots, which can aid in safer navigation through tight roads as well as when parking the vehicle.

Aside from the AVM, IPC also equipped the updated 2024 mu-X with a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) that can record continuously for up to 11 hours on a 64GB microSD card.

The DVR comes with a dual or single view replay as well as proximity recording across all four cameras. As such, it is meant to give drivers enhanced security and peace of mind.

As most individuals now own a smartphone, IPC opted to enhance the mu-X connectivity features as its 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen now has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. With this, drivers can effortlessly connect their smartphones to the touchscreen more seamlessly.

To complement the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Isuzu PH added wireless phone charging to the new mu-X. This means that drivers or future Isuzu mu-X owners don’t need to bring mobile phone charging cables anymore. They just simply need to place their phone on the designated charging tray, ensuring that their mobile phones will have enough juice to and from their destination.

The 2024 Isuzu mu-X has five variants with a starting price of Php 1,675,000 while the top-of-the-line mu-X 3.0 4x4 LS-E AT retails at Php 2,530,000.

The Isuzu mu-X Philippines 2023 is the Japanese marque's entry to the 7-seater midsize SUV based on its pickup truck sibling, the Isuzu D-Max. It is offered in five variants with a price that ranges from Php 1,650,000 to Php 2,505,000. For the Philippines market, the Isuzu-made SUV has two available engine options. The smaller one is a 1.9-liter RZ4E Bluepower turbodiesel capable of making up to 148 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. It can either come with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the larger engine option for the mu-X is a 3.0-liter inline-4 turbodiesel. At most, this mill can produce up to 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Only a six-speed automatic transmission is available with this engine.

Dimensions-wise, the mu-X is 4,850 mm long, 1,870 mm wide, and 1,825 mm high, with a wheelbase and ground clearance rated at 2,855 mm and 235 mm, respectively. Locally, this midsize SUV is competing against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Nissan Terra, and Mitsubishi Montero Sport.
