Being a preview, the brand has yet to indicate the Ioniq 6’s local specs, but it did share several interesting facts and tidbits about this EV model.

For starters, the Ioniq 6 follows in the footsteps of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 in assuming what has been described as a “sport and sleek” exterior design. To be more exact, it shows off the brand’s signature 3D parametric pixel lights, along with glass-like, transparent textures.

Step inside the Ioniq 6 and one will find a spacious cocoon-like interior filled to the brim with amenities. These features include an integrated digital gauge cluster, an infotainment system, and action-sensitive ambient lighting.

Like the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 is built on Hyundai’s electric-global modular platform (E-GMP), which allows for optimized handling, stability, as well as safety.

Speaking of safety, the Ioniq 6 is fitted with the brand’s array of driver-assistive safety features like the Highway Drive Assist 2 system, the navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, and a remote parking assist system.

According to Hyundai, the Ioniq 6 then features a range of 545 kilometers. The brand also claims it can reach a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 5.1 seconds, and a top speed of 185 km/h.

HMPH is yet to provide exact launch dates for the Philippine-spec Ioniq 6, but the brand did indicate that it is slated for an official local launch sometime in the middle of this year. The brand also shared that its price will hover around Php 4 million.

That estimated price for Hyundai Ioniq 6 places it as a higher-end model than the currently available Hyundai Ioniq 5. For your reference, the latter has two available trims in the local market. There’s the Ioniq 5 2WD Standard Range priced at Php 3,068,000, and the Ioniq 5 2WD Long Range priced at Php 3,698,000.

The Ioniq 5 is packaged with a five-year or 200,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, and free preventive maintenance service for 5 years or 75,000 km whichever comes first. Every purchase of the Ioniq 5 then comes with a 7.4 kWh AC wall charger as standard.

Besides previewing the Hyundai Ioniq 6, the brand also said a six-seater version of the Stargazer MPV will be launched this year. Note that the currently available Stargazer trims are seven-seater models with a bench-type folding second row. The six-seater version, in turn, will likely come with captain seats for its second row.
