Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) previews the next generation 2024 CR-V before its official debut on September 13, 2023.

The full model change is getting three different variants for the local market. There’s the CR-V V Turbo 1.5 priced at Php 2,150,000, the CR-V VX Turbo 1.5 at Php 2,300,000, and the top-spec RS e:HEV 2.0 at Php 2,600,000. The all-new crossover is now open for reservation at any of the 37 HCPI dealerships until September 30, 2023, with waived fees.
Being a preliminary showing of the 2024 CR-V, the brand didn’t fully reveal its specs yet. As hinted by the variant's names though, it will get two different engines: a 1.5-liter turbo and a 2.0-liter hybrid. The 1.5-liter version was confirmed to be a gasoline engine as well. Remember that Honda dropped the diesel option for the CR-V when it first debuted in Thailand back in March and it could be the same for the local market as well.
The non-hybrid trims are getting continuously variable transmissions (CVT), while the hybrid will come with an electronic continuously variable transmission (E-CVT). At least the 1.5-liter version will then use all-wheel-drive.
The upcoming next-gen CR-V will also go heavy on technology. For better ease of use, the brand says that it will be the first in its lineup to get Honda Connect. This is a smartphone integration app that will allow owners to control some elements of their vehicles through their smartphones.

Likewise making an appearance on the next-gen midsize crossover is the latest version of the Honda Sensing driver-assistive safety suite. This enhances safety, and it can detect motorcycles, bicycles, pedestrians, and other road users via its front camera and radar.
Last but not least, the all-new CR-V is getting a revamped look. In a nutshell, the three-row model now looks closer to the smaller HR-V thanks to its straight character and window lines, its cleaner-looking mesh grille, and its sharped LED headlamps.
It also lost the bulgy details of the old CR-V, particularly on the lower front bumper and the grille. Interestingly, the top-spec RS e:HEV doesn’t appear to have black plastic body claddings on its fender flares and side skirts.

The 2024 Honda CR-V is a midsize crossover SUV. For the Philippine market, it has three variants: the V Turbo CVT, VX Turbo CVT, and the RS e:HEV (hybrid) e-CVT.
The latest version of this Honda model has two different engine options. For the top-spec hybrid trim, it uses a 2.0-liter gasoline four-banger paired with a dual motor and lithium-ion battery. The combustion component alone produces up to 145 horsepower and 183 Nm of torque. The electric-powered component meanwhile, can churn out 181 horsepower and 335 Nm of torque.
Aboard the V and VX trims meanwhile is a 1.5-liter inline-4 engine that can churn out 187 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque.
Only the VX gets all-wheel-drive, while the rest are front-wheel-drive. All trims then use a continuously variable transmission (CVT), but the one on the hybrid trim is an electronic CVT (e-CVT).
In terms of dimensions, the all-new CR-V is 4,691mm long, 1,866mm wide, and 1,681mm (1,691mm for VX) in height. Both the hybrid and the V’s wheelbase then spans 2,701mm (2,700mm for VX).
Locally, the Honda CR-V competes against the likes of the Mazda CX-9, Cherry Tiggo 8 Pro, Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe, Peugeot 5008, etc.
