The next-generation 2024 Honda CR-V will reportedly be debuting in the Philippine market with a hybrid variant next month. Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is also most likely ditching the diesel engine option for the next-gen CR-V.

In a report by Autoindustriya, the 2024 Honda CR-V will be offered in three variants with two trims coming with a turbo-gasoline engine while the other one will be having a hybrid powertrain. The CR-V V Turbo is said to be the entry-level trim while the VX sits in the middle with the RS e:HEV as the top-of-the-line variant.
Both the upcoming V and VX will reportedly be propelled by the same 1.5-liter turbo mill currently used by the Honda Civic. The one equipped on the next-gen CR-V gets a different tuning though as it delivers up to 187 hp as compared to the Civic’s 175 hp. The torque rating remains the same with the Civic, which is rated at 240 Nm. The report added that the 2024 Honda CR-V V and VX trims will come with a front-wheel-drive layout.

The top-spec 2024 Honda CR-V RS e:HEV, on the other hand, is said to get a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with a dual electric motor. The combustion engine alone delivers 146 hp and 183 Nm of torque. But, with the dual electric motor, it can generate a total power output of 207 hp and 335 Nm of torque as specified on the official Honda Thailand website. It will then use an electronic continuously variable transmission (e-CVT) sending power to all four wheels.
There are no exact details for the upcoming CR-V’s onboard amenities and features for the moment. But the VX and e:HEV might be getting the Honda Sensing driver-assistive safety suite as standard.

The report also speculated that the next-gen 2024 Honda CR-V could have a starting price of Php 1.8 million with the top-spec hybrid version getting a price tag of around Php 2.2 million.
Of note, nothing is official as of this writing. Expect to have more details about the next-gen Honda CR-V as it nears its reported launch date next month.
