LTO urges school officials to visit its road safety facility in QC

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) intends to promote the importance of road safety as it opened a new facility at the LTO Central Office in Quezon City. 

LTO opens Road Safety Interactive Center

Dubbed Road Safety Interactive Center (RSIC), the LTO said that it is a state-of-the-art facility that offers interactive stations complete with driving simulators for both two and four-wheeled vehicles. The RSIC aims to highlight road safety as it also features designed games on road signs, warnings, and other regulatory signages. 

Aside from those, the LTO’s RSIC has a 4D mini theater that shows informative videos on child safety, teen driving, pedestrian safety, vehicle theft protection, and types of public utility vehicles. 

As such, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II is urging elementary and high school authorities to consider including a visit to the agency’s RSIC as part of their educational tour. 

Mendoza added that the LTO’s RSIC is a facility designed to educate students on the importance of road courtesy, discipline, and safety. He believes that early exposure to the importance of road safety will result in having more responsible drivers.  

“The elementary and high school students are the next generations of motorists. It is important that at their young age, they are already being introduced to this kind of facility that focuses on road safety,” said Mendoza.

The LTO Chief also believes that students will be entertained while learning road safety upon visiting the agency’s RSIC. 

“This [the RSIC] was designed to cater to younger generations as manifested by our interactive stations and modern facilities,” he added.

Mendoza shared that he already ordered the creation of a committee that will be tasked to schedule and receive bookings from various schools that are interested in visiting the RSIC at the LTO Central Office in Quezon City. 

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista said in his speech during the opening ceremony that the LTO’s RSIC will help the public and students understand, create awareness, and follow road safety and traffic rules through modern technology and interactive infotainment.
