Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) has brought together sustainable mobility, art, and fashion through an exhibit at the SM Mega Fashion Hall last weekend.

The said exhibit was held in celebration of the 75th year of Philippine-Korea diplomatic ties, and it showcases not just Hyundai’s lineup of cars, but also the artistic vision of several artists who took inspiration from Korean-Philippine culture.

Front and center at the Hyundai art exhibit was Leeroy New’s Bionic 1.0 car installation. This is a biosynthetic sculpture, which the artist says follows the principles of nature & plant growth.

The result is a sculpture comprised of root-like forms that intertwine to mirror the shape of the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Interestingly, the Bionic 1.0 car installation art piece was hung above the Hyundai’s fully electric vehicle.

Likewise showcased at the event were several eye-catching fashion pieces by other renowned local artists and designers. Particularly eye-catching was the Carapace BioSuit which was also designed by New. It is made out of sustainable materials, and it forms a natural-looking shell over the body of the fashion model.

As the models showed off their respective designer’s artistic visions, music was provided by a kulintang drum performance by the Korean Cultural Center (KCC).

Of note, this Hyundai exhibit at the SM Mega Fashion Hall is a special leg of the Hyundai Mobility Experience (HME) tour. As such, several Hyundai vehicles were also present to wow the crowds.

Besides the Ioniq 5, those present were the Stargazer X MPV, the Custin minivan, the Creta subcompact crossover MPV, the all-new Santa Fe mid-size crossover SUV, and the Staria minivan.
