As mentioned earlier, the SsangYong Musso is the pickup version of the brand's SUV, Rexton. It directly implies that the South Korean pickup shares a lot of design traits with the SsangYong Rexton. Overall, the exterior design of the SsangYong Musso is too mild for a duty-oriented pickup truck, but it still has a large and intimidating stance. 

The front fascia of the pickup appears to be simple and boxy. However, there's the presence of the sweptback headlamps along with daytime running LEDs and projector units within them. SsangYong Musso also sports a hexagonal grille with thin chrome linings along with the brand's logo. Although the car's grille looks big, it comes with a simple layout that may not quickly grab people's attention.

The SsangYong Musso has one of the rich and premium cabins, among other pickups. It features a very nice blend of black and chestnut brown that creates a luxurious feel inside the cabin. Heated and cooled seats are available depending on the variant. The vehicle's interior also sports a very posh driver's cockpit that has an inviting instrument cluster, large colored MID screen, and a large three-spoke steering wheel. The presence of the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system makes the center console appear wide. Along with it are the dual-zone automatic climate control buttons that are laid horizontally and vertical AC vents with silver finish.

In terms of infotainment, the SsangYong Musso did not disappoint. It is equipped with a large 8-inch LCD smart audio head unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities. The air conditioning controls are in the form of dual-zone climate controls that comes with rear vents. A pair of 12-volt sockets are also available in the South Korean pickup. One is situated in the front part of the cabin while the other is located in the vehicle's bed. The SsangYong Musso also has a USB outlet in the cabin.

The Korean pickup is also equipped with several safety features, including ABS with EBD, traction control system, six airbags, and a rearview camera, which comes as a standard in select variants.

Ssangyong Musso is a four-door pickup truck that can accommodate five occupants. It has a length of 5405 mm, a width of 1950 mm, a 3210 mm wheelbase, and a ground clearance of 216 mm. The double-wishbone front suspension and a five-link coil-spring suspension at the rear provide a sorted handling balance and ride quality despite being a heavy pickup based on a ladder-on-frame chassis. However, the Musso Grand comes with a live axle rear with leaf springs to handle its bigger bed and bigger load capacity. 

The ventilated discs at the front and the rear solid discs provide the stopping power of the SsangYong Musso.

Under the hood of the SsangYong Musso lies 2.2L Diesel Engine, 4 Cylinder 16 Valve DOHC that creates 179 horsepower and 420 Newton-meter of maximum torque. The powerplant is mated to a six-speed ASIN automatic transmission that sends power on the rear axles for the sole variant. It also comes with a drive mode selection. 

The South Korean pickup is available in Manual and Automatic transmission depending on the variant. The vehicle's fuel consumption also depends on the fuel type and variant, but it has 11.62 kmpl fuel efficiency on the highway. 

The SsangYong Musso features an impressive engine with its power delivery and refinement; however, the absence of the 4x4 drivetrain will surely be felt when the tough gets going.
