This makes BYD’s premier crossover EV more accessible to would-be adopters, and it signifies the brand’s eagerness to push forward sustainable forms of transport.

According to Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, the CEO of ACMobility which holds the Philippines distributorship of BYD cars, this initiative is one of the huge steps towards establishing a “knowledge-driven market.”

Through the easy accessibility provided by the BYD Atto 3 rent or lease program, buyers may become more informed and eventually more confident in using EVs on local roads.

“The more people are aware of the virtues and rewards of sustainable mobility through electric vehicles, and the more they experience the ACMobility charging ecosystem firsthand, the easier it will be for us to progress towards an all-electric mobility future,” said Zobel.

As to how the partnership works, BPITCRC CEO Satoshi Matsuo explained that ACMobility will provide the BYD Atto 3 EV. In turn, BPITCRC will handle the auto lease, while Diamond Rent-a-Car will be in charge of the car rental service.

Matsuo also commended the quality and characteristics of the BYD’s EV models.

“Once you drive BYD EV, you will be fascinated by the comfortable experience. Further, this will also contribute to the Environmental, Social, and Governance initiatives of corporate clients. We will definitely accelerate the expansion of our business and further build a better Philippines with BYD and AC Mobility,” said Matsuo.

For those unfamiliar with the BYD Atto 3, it is classed as a compact crossover EV. It uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor that can dish out 201 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. It also has a maximum New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) range of 480 km.

In the local market, the BYD Atto 3 EV currently retails for Php 1,598,000 for the entry-level Dynamic variant and Php 1,798,000 for the top-spec Premium.
