BMW Philippines, under SMC Asia Car Distributor’s Corporation, will be holding a test drive event where the public can experience the company’s latest luxury fully electric vehicle offerings.
This is your chance to get behind the wheel of BMW's luxury EVs
Dubbed the BMW EV Weekend, the test drive event is set to commence on November 24 until November 26, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Upper Ground Atrium of SM Aura Premier.
Available to take out for test drives are the BMW iX3 M Sport and the BMW iX xDrive40. Likewise displayed during the event is the BMW i7 xDrive60 Pure Excellence - the brand’s flagship fully electric full-size sedan.
For those curious, the iX3 M Sport debuted on the local market at the beginning of 2023 and it currently has a starting price of Php 4.59 million. The M Sport trim gets an angular sharp appearance complete with adaptive LED headlamps, air curtains, active air flap control, and blue accents. It likewise gets the M Aerodynamic package and the high-gloss shadow line for added flair.
BMW iX3
Propelling this EV is an electric motor capable of dishing out 286 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It also has a range of 480 kilometers on a single charge.
The iX xDrive40 meanwhile, retails at Php 6.29 million and is a boxy-looking crossover EV with a seating capacity of up to five occupants. It also boasts a massive 14.9-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, and the brand’s Operating System 8.
Its powertrain meanwhile, consists of a pair of electric motors that can put out a combined output of 326 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four of its wheels, and it features a range of 372 kilometers.
BMW iX
Besides the chance to give these EV Bimmers a spin, the brand also introduces the BMW Festive Deals promo. This provides special offers on select models including the BMW 318i Business, BMW X1 sDrive18d XLine, BMW X3 XDrive30d Busines, the BMW 520i Luxury, and the BMW 530i M Sport.
The brand didn’t share any specifics regarding the Festive Deals promo, but one can visit any of the five BMW dealerships nationwide for more information.

The BMW iX Philippines is an electric-powered crossover. Its sole variant in the local market is the iX xDrive40, and it comes with an introductory price of Php 6,290,000.
Size-wise, the iX has a length of 4,953mm, a width of 1,967mm, and a height of 1,695mm. It also has a wheelbase length of 3,000mm, and a ground clearance of 202mm.
Powering the iX xDrive40 is a permanent magnet AC synchronous motor. It provides a range of 372km, and it can produce up to 326 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque.
Locally, the BMW iX xDrive40 doesn’t have a midsized, all-electric competitor in the local market. In other markets though, it goes against the Audi e-tron, and the Tesla Model X.
