Let’s find out everything about the Nissan X-Trail 2018, a 7-seater designed for adventure.

Nissan X-Trail 2018 Philippines: Overview

The mid-cycle refresh of the Nissan X-Trail 2018 Philippines has been introduced just in time. Coming equipped with a wealth of cool updates, the Nissan compact SUV is expected to compete against other fierce rivals in its segment such as the all-new Mazda CX-5 and the Kia Sportage.

Nissan X-Trail 2018 Review

According to sources, on a stormy weekday, many Nissan addicts went out into and braved the terrible weather to experience the refreshed X-Trail 2018. And it was worth the wait. The dynamic look, stronger grille, and new fog lights immediately distinguish this attractive household car from its predecessor.

But the great news is what’s inside. Aesthetically speaking, the appearance of the car doesn't depart too much from the current model. This face-lifted compact SUV really packs series of tech inside as it is the first vehicle in the Philippines supplied with the widest range of Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies. We particularly like 360-degree monitor, wherein the X-Trail occupants are notified audibly and visually by moving objects around the vehicle such as children or pets.

If the above-mentioned clues are still not enough for you to drop by the nearest Nissan dealership, maybe the following Nissan X-Trail 2018 review by Philkotse.com will help convince you.

In brief, the X-Trail 2018’s unique selling points include:

  • Subtle new look
  • Roomy space (6 passengers)
  • A wealth of tech

1. Nissan X-Trail 2018 Exterior Review

This is a modest and tricky improvement, it’s fair to say. We are pretty sure that no one will fail to recognize this all-new compact crossover as a familiar Nissan X-Trail, and the V-Motion 2.0 grille, upgraded front bumper with new fog lights offer only a little extra pizzazz.

The Nissan X-Trail 2018 Philippines now includes a redesigned front fascia with LED daytime running lights and integrated fog lamps. You can also spot the latest Nissan crossover by rectangular, non-circular fog lights.

2. Nissan X-Trail 2018 Interior Review

In line with the Nissan X-Trail Nismo 2017’s facelift, the X-Trail 2018’s interior has been lightly modified, but it’s hardly worth mentioning. But even so, these slight adjustments further add a dash of refinement and aggressively sexy design to its unmistakably sporty vibe.

There are new finishes on the instrument panel and the door, plus new appearances for the steering wheel, center console, and shift knob. The tiller now comes with toggle switches and a flat-bottom, which makes getting in and out easier as well as facilitates the display of the dials better. It’s also heated.

2.1. Seating

Rumor has it that approximately 40% of customers command the Nissan X-Trail as a 7-seater. While there is enough room for 5 grownups within, the 2 pop-up rear seats are best scheduled for children. Even with them in location, the Nissan X-Trail 2018 cabin has middle row slides forward and backward to juggle the front and rear space.

People always love to go on road trips with their whole families and friends. That is why Nissan want their customers to think about the all-new Nissan X-Trail as a buddy that looks out for them so they can enjoy their safe and sound adventure.

2.2. More premium cabin

So not much has upgraded, but it has addressed the greatest problem of the previous X-Trail by providing more soft-touch and useful materials. It also remains an incredibly convenient, focused area to sit.

It’s all finished in that premium quality. All X-Trail 2018 variants do not stick to the Nissan inherent mass-market quality. The inside does not really give occupants a sense of lavish lifestyles, but it is nicely screwed and feels made to last. The all-black interior still gets some unpleasant materials sitting alongside some softer-touch, smarter attributes.

2.3. Technology pack

Of more interest is the on-board technology of this car. This means that this top-of-line model isn’t just bolder in design but comes equipped with a range of tech. This includes:

  • 360-degree Around View Monitor for easier navigation
  • Sensors that detect moving object around the X-Trail
  • Rear cross traffic alert
  • Blind spot warning
  • Forward collision warning
  • And forward emergency braking for prevention of accidents
  • 4x4-I System for better mobility

3. Nissan X-Trail 2018 Review: Safety & Security features

With Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the facelifted X-Trail provides a more connected and confident driving experience. Future X-Trail 2018 owners can relieve the stress of daily journey while minimizing the risk of potentially dangerous driving situations.

The newest crossover also retains many safety features that have given it the preference of customers, such as:

  • Active Run Control
  • Active Motor Brake
  • Active Stroke Control
  • Pendant Ascent/Descent Wizard
  • Curtain airbags

4. Nissan X-Trail 2018 Review: Performance

The Nissan X-Trail 2018 comes with 225/55 R19 wheels and retains the same transmission and engine. The 4x4 model gets a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that churns out 171 horsepower and 233 Nm of torque while the 4x2 receives a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers an output of 144 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. All that car grunt is coursed through Nissan’s Xtronic CVT transmission. The 4x4 model is also engineered with Nissan’s 4x4-I System which automatically vary power distributions from front to rear to ensure better performance on terrain conditions.

Nissan X-Trail 2018 Philippines: Final thoughts

The Nissan X-Trail 2017 missed out some considerable tweaks lavised up on the X-Trail 2018. Thankfully, the face-lifted X-Trail remains a sensible proposition if you’re currently shopping around for an attractive household car with the 5+2 seating confuguration, excellent driving pleasure, and big boot.

The new crossover of Nissan is really a big, sensible, wise family cross

The serious competitor Volkswagen Tiguan gets a more unremittingly practical yet premium cabin, the Land Rover Discovery Sport smashes the performance issue, but the X-Trail 2018 facelift has ramped up the race with a pleasing honesty. It is practical, large, wise transport for large broods.
