Three killed and nearly ten injured at Massachusetts auto auction

No clear evidence of the crash has been revealed by police.
The accident occurred around 10:15 a.m. local time on last Wednesday at Lynnway Auto Auction Inc. in Billerica, Massachusetts (about 20 miles northwest of Boston) and killed three people.

At an afternoon press conference, a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 70s male employee was reported to suddenly give warning signal of a very high rate of speed.

Before crashing through a wall, the car struck multiple people. Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said the collision caused the death of one man and two women. Nine people were also sent to hospital due to this incident. Four victims were being treated at nearby Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts. The others were taken to other local hospitals.

One victim is being treated for life-threatening injuries. The others are reported to be suffering from “serious injuries”. According to Massachusetts State Police, preliminary investigation shows no clear evidence that the accident was a deliberate crash.

Randy Miller, an auction attendee, told the station that he had heard a bang or an explosion as a bomb. He added: "The whole place just went silent. There were people just lying on the ground - a horrific, crazy, tragic situation."

A representative of the Massachusetts State Police refused to comment beside the statements it released. No further comment could be reached from the Billerica Police Department and Lynnway.
