Ford Philippines finally launched a 4x4 variant of the Ford Ranger FX4. With this drivetrain, the FX4 name is given justice. After all, it has always been an off-road trim variant historically.
Just like the Ford Ranger FX4 4x2 that was launched earlier this year, the new 4x4 variant sports several blacked-out pieces. This includes the mesh grille, the sports bar, the bumpers, fenders, and side mirrors covers. Even the 18-inch alloy wheels are all black. Coupled with the decals found low on the doors and the result is a truck that looks as handsome as it is tough.
Not a lick of chrome on the FX4. Almost everything is blacked out
Like the exterior, the cabin of the Ranger FX4 4x4 is also given a stand-out look. The dashboard, center console, and door trims are given red stitching accents and the seats are clad leather embossed with FX4 logos. Dominating the dash of the FX4 4x4 is an eight-inch touchscreen capable of connecting via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. To provide more convenience for its driver, the Ranger FX4 4x4 is also equipped with rain-sensing wipers, power-folding mirrors, and cruise control.

Aside from being luxurious, the Ranger FX4 4x4 comes with a decent amount of safety features. It has an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, rear parking sensors, dual-front airbags, ISOFIX, and an engine immobilizer with a security alarm.
Propelling the Ranger FX4 4x4 is Ford’s 2.2-liter Duratorq diesel engine, which is the same engine found on the 4x2 version of the Ranger FX4. The said engine can make up to 158 horsepower and 385 Nm of torque. Delivering power to all four wheels is a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
While handsome-looking, the Ranger FX4 is also a great work truck since it uses leaf springs for its rear end
Ford Philippines will begin selling the Ranger FX4 4x4 nationwide on September 25, 2020. The manual variant is priced at Php 1,356,000 and the automatic variant at Php 1,416,000.
