The Fortuner gets one update on the third row that everyone wants.

It’s finally out. The 2020 Toyota Fortuner and Hilux debuted in Thailand featuring a bolder look and more punching power under its hood.

Both Toyota heavyweights join the 500 Club as it now has 500 Nm of pulling power thanks to the more powerful 201 hp 2.8-liter diesel engine. The 2.4-liter diesel engine is still among the engine options in the 2020 Fortuner and Hilux.

Launched in Thailand, the 2020 Fortuner will be offered with a variant called Legender. It comes with a new fascia that gives the vehicle a sharper look.

Toyota’s mid-size SUV is now fitted with a new bumper design that looks larger and bolder as compared to its predecessor. It now also packs a more powerful diesel engine under its hood.

The 2020 Fortuner comes with a 2.8-liter diesel engine that delivers a maximum output of 201 hp and 500 Nm of torque. It also has a Sport mode, which will come in handy whenever you want to have a more spirited drive.

Aside from the more powerful engine, the 2020 Fortuner also comes with Toyota Safety Sense, which offers an array of safety features such as Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Alert.

The 2020 Fortuner Legender variant also comes with a new grille design featuring a mesh pattern. The design changes continue to be seen at the Fortuner’s headlight which is integrated with LED guiding headlights along with daytime running lights. On a side note, we can’t help but think of the Geely Coolray whenever we look back at the 2020 Fortuner’s fascia.

The side of the latest Thai-market Fortuner still looks similar to the current Toyota Fortuner available in the Philippines. However, it has a set of new 20-inch alloy wheels, which we find appealing in case you’re wondering.
