Fourth-generation 2020 Nissan Almera makes its Asian debut
Nissan has unveiled the all-new Nissan Almera for the Asia and Oceania markets, and it comes with an updated design which is definitely a huge departure from the previous model, as well as loads of modern tech.
Nissan Almera 2020: A fresh and exciting new exterior
Made to look energetic and provocative, the all-new Almera's exterior is designed to attract young families and millennials. While it sports a radically different aesthetic, the model is still based on the Common Modular Family or CMF-B platform which was developed by the Renault-Nissan Alliance. It also echoes the change that was made on the Nissan Juke 2020 which just like the Almera, they also redesigned to look more handsome.
The V-motion grille combined with the new lights gives the new Almera a sharper, more aggressive look
The rear looks really modern and up to date as well. Also, check out that rear diffuser surrounded by the faux carbon fiber piece
Upfront, the Nissan Almera 2020 sports the signature Nissan V-motion grille coupled with a sharp angular pair of LED daytime running lights, and boomerang headlights with integrated signal lights.
At the vehicle’s rear, Nissan also gave it a pair of chunky but stylish pair of boomerang headlights. The c-pillar is also blacked-out and seemingly fuses into the rear window making for a seemingly floating roof.
There are echoes of the old Almera but that's overshadowed by the new model's design
The trunk looks big and practical. Good enough for several golf bags or for out of town travel luggage

Nissan Almera 2020: Price released
Since the all-new Nissan Almera is currently being launched and introduced as of press-time in Thailand, our friends have cared enough to share with us a sneak-peek at the pricing and variants that will be made available there. Knowing how much our market mirrors theirs as we share almost the same model units, it is a good indication of what we might see on our shores.
The Almera coming to Thailand is powered by a 1-liter turbo engine
Putting the power to the ground for all variants is Nissan's proprietary X-Tronic CVT which remains one of the gold standards in this technology. Fans of enthusiasts who wish to grow through their own gears would be disappointed to know that, at least in Thailand no manual transmission options are available.
If we convert these prices to Philippine Pesos, of which their pricing isn't that far off from ours anyway, give or take a few tens of thousands of pesos, the pricing of the various models would look like this:

The given Nissan Almera pricelist suggests that it is gunning aftermarket leaders such as the Toyota Vios and the Honda City which also features a similar price range. If it does arrive on our shores with pricing similar to Thailand's it might reignite the long-awaited sub-compact sedan wars which at the moment is a 2-horse race dominated by either Honda or Toyota.
